It's begining to look...

a lot like Christmas. The last few day's I went threw my Christmas boxes and gave some away to a Thrift store. I know I didn't give enough away. Maybe my Grandson's will want some of it some day. Was that a funny?

Barb made this basket sled one year.

Posted by PicasaThis is my Christmas tree's. I haven't had a tree for several years. I thought I wanted a tree this year but this will do. So I put a few things out to make the season bright. Barb and Caleb helped me put lights out front on Thanksgiving Day. They are pretty.

Birthday and Fair...

These flowers are from my Birthday. Barb got them for me and Chris carried them in to me. They were so nice I enjoyed them very much. Everyone came down on Sat. the 10th and we grilled, had good food and a great time. Plus Tina and Rich came down too.

Then on Wed. the showing of the cattle started at the Fair. The boys are showing there heifer calves. It was a good week. They did great.

PICNIC APRON CHALLENGE...

Memory Makers Quilt Guild of Perryville Mo. has a picnic meeting in August. This year we met at the Barrrens Winery and had a lovely supper out on the porch with a nice breeze.

At our picnic we have a challenge and this year we were given an apron to finish off in a picnic theme with using some strips and dots. These are pictures of the aprons.

The skinny Dick's apron was brought by a member as a joke. It is X rated. You may be able to see what is under the towel!

I don't remember for sure which member made which one so I better not say. The one in this picture with the cupcakes is mine.

A Day at Pre Fair....

Adam getting ready to show his heifer. Both boys took a heifer and steer. You City folks might night know what they are but just ask me and I will explaine.

Brandon getting his heifer ready.

Adam in the show ring with his steer.

The judge taking the time to tell Adam he is going to place his steer in Second place. Adam said "No Way" to the judge. But the judge did say his steer may take the Grand place at the Fair with a little more on his ribs. But he does have a nice rump.

Brandon showing his steer and he came in Second place too. The first place was a friend and the judge was right on that one.

After the show my Son gave a talk to the 4H kids and parents on getting your beef animal ready for the Fair. He did a great job.

Master Chef is in the house....

Yes, Brandon is in. He made a 2 fried egg sandwich on toasted raisin bread with butter and cinnamon. He said it was great. Then after that we were off to check the cow's. Master Chef/Rancher.

We had two born last night and early morning. Brandon is putting a tag in this ones ear. Mommy wasn't too happy about the whole deal. She let out a load Mo and half the heard came to see what was wrong. It is a bull calf. I could of showed you a different picture, calf between his legs and a nice butt crack, but I'm trying to keep this blog PG. I think you get the picture. You have to put the calf between your legs to hold it still, so you can use both hands. Unless you have a friend who can help you. But Grandma wasn't getting out of the pumpkin. Not the way that Mom cow was looking at us.

This one didn't get an ear tag. Mom is not to friendly and very protected. As you can see I took the picture threw the glass.

This one was born about a week ago.

Great day in small town...

Once a year Friends and neighbors in Friedheim (just up the road) have a day of activities, which include a tractor ride, live music and a dinner. There is no charge for anything but they ask for a donations to help with medical bills and physical therapy for Friedheim resident, David Seabaugh, who was injured in a farm accident earlier this year. This is a picture of Brandon and Cooper waiting for the tractors to come by our ranch and they will join in.

Here they come.

We are watching from Steve & Tammy's drive way. Steve even put up a tent for some shade.

That is Mr. Seabaugh in the wagon.

This is Adam on his tractor. I didn't get a picture of Caleb on his tractor. When the last tractor passed the boys were ready to join in.

They had a silent auction for some items and I won this quilt. It is so nice. We stayed till about 9:30. Cooper went home early because he danced up a storm. He loved the music. Posted by Picasa

What a week-end...

Yes that's me with Tim Holtz. Went to Kansas on Fri. and had a class with Tim on Sat. It was a great class. It was a Patchwork class. He is holding the work in the picture below. Mine isn't finished yet because my do dad's got in one of the other girls bags. So I will have to find something else to work on. I think I have a quilt to finish. We had a great time. Did some shopping and eating out some great places.

The second post for today....

This quilt is Amy Butler fabric and the pattern is called Just Can't Cut It. Great and easy pattern for big design fabric.

Took a workshop yesterday with the River Heritage Quilt Guild of Cape. It is called Cane Weaving Wall Hanging. Size is 26" x 32". Had fun and a great lunch. This is a great guild. Lots of hard working people in this guild.

Last night was our Guild meeting in Cape and this is our Opportunity Quilt. I made 3 of the bloks. It is 84" X 96". Wonderful quilt. We will draw at the November Meeting. Let me know if you want a chance to win this wonderful quilt.
